2022 — 2023
The project explores the connection between magic and the modern information world, using the fly agaric mushroom as a bridging element. In ancient times, the fly agaric was used in shamanic practices and considered a gateway to the magical realm. One of the hallucinogenic effects of the mushroom is that its consumers begin to see and feel the presence of the fly agaric in their surroundings.
We have chosen to utilize AI technology, Midjourney, to create a mockumentary series—an alternative biological encyclopedia revolving around the fly agaric. The psychedelic effect of the mushroom shares similarities with the flow of viral images in the digital era—bright, captivating, yet toxic, as they seize our information space, reconstructing and distorting history and facts.
